- Create an animation editor. (I will be using the assignment I did in my graphics course as a great starting point).
- Foliage: Create an awesome parametric stochastic L-System with the ability to initially add randomness to symbols. Consider making it time based as well, which includes a global variable, time, and a parameter, age.
- Play around to create awesome shaders for stuff.
- Implement local illumination ray tracing, or perhaps even a fast hybrid ray tracing implementation. Maybe a cool hybridish variation of Monte Carlo simulation.
- Implement simplex noise and use it in combination with fractal landscaping to create an awesome landscape engine.
- Maker use of quarternions for moving around an animating.
- Use boids to create a cool flock of something.
- Create an weather system with cool effects.
- Create a music generation engine. Use L-Systems? At triggers for trigger different music moods, e.g. suspense music part, tranquil music part,mysterious music part. Transitions between different moods should be smooth. A nice state engine should do it for an simple architecture.
- Awesome looking water bodies, perhaps add some effects to the water.
- Floating Island, yeah, that would look cool. Maybe some guy fishing for .. birds? with his little house that exists in the under-overhang (on stalactite land rests on part of the island) .
- FLoating Island world with airships, kind of like a baloon/zepplinish ship. very fantasy / NOT industrial feel. THink the Witness with floating islands.
